What's New?

Yes, the last report is correct. I am back. However, the evidence thus far is only visible IF you subscribe to the Subscription Database. There are now 12,555 names in it, with so many corrections that I could never list them all. See below for information.

I am now RETIRED! That's right folks...after 20 years in the Air Force, 13 years as a teacher, I retired. What that means to YOU is that genealogy will be foremost my occupation. Thanks for your patience!

The state of the Site

With my retirement, I have fullfilled last months promise that the first thing I planned to do is update the subscription database (I have that new software up and running now, and NEW data in there to make it worth it), and have responded to all those who wanted info on how to subscribe. Within the next two weeks (by Sep 15) I will be contacting my publisher to make arrangements for the promised update to the Guilford book. Later, work will begin on the first edition of the Gov Thomas book. I hope to have all that done by years end.

Speaking of which ALL of my books are STILL available through me!! Yes, Willow Bend (who bought my publisher Heritage) has said that if I can get 10 orders of any book I write (yes, that means the Concord Branch also) they will print them! Additionally, all the links on the Book Page now work. Also, updates to the Virginia branch is coming (by years end) to the subscription base.

Subscription

The data base on this site is BASIC and FREE. However, be aware that it has been about three years since I have touched it. There IS another data base with more information, combining my latest finds and many corrections to the BASIC data base. As explained last year, to many people freely took from the basic base and never bothered to acknowledge their source in other data bases and even in genealogical books that I have found on the web. Additionally, many who took never offered any of their finds or corrections to me! I even found a post on a message board of someone criticizing an error that they could have corrected, and never did. (it was fixed) Therefore, use the FREE base as you will--takers beware. Should you want the latest info, I now charge. This site has been in exsistance for 10 years, I never charged before, and hate to now. Subscriptions are $20 per year. Email me for particulars.

My other site--on Dudleytown has NEWS of a planned DUDLEYTOWN MOVIE!! Check it out! That site, by the way, (along with my Legend of Dudleytown book) has been mentioned on National Geographic.com, the Book The Night the Defeos Died (available at Amazon.com), Weird USA, and on many other large internet sites. I am suitably proud! Check my other site out for information.
